About STUDIO PETRINO

STUDIO PETRINO was created with a simple idea:
to capture, curate, and share the feeling of travel.

Not the logistics.
Not the itineraries.
The feeling of travel.

The coziness of a dimly lit hotel bar. The hum of an early-morning airport lounge. The texture of a vintage guidebook pulled from a dusty shelf. A winding coastal road at sunset. An ice cold Martini served just right. A well-worn blazer and tie combo. A classic car parked outside a café. The small rituals that make the world feel bigger and more interesting.

STUDIO PETRINO exists to preserve those moments...and humbly offer them to you through photography, writing, and a curated collection of objects that carry the same spirit.

A World Built on Style, Story, and Discovery

This is a place where image, object, and memory meet.
Where framed prints live beside vintage travel guides.
Where well-made accessories, old hotel souvenirs, and petrol-era ashtrays sit comfortably next to stories about far-off cities, mountain roads, and long lunches.

Our collection spans:

- Framed Fine Art Photography: scenes from around the world, framed and ready to live on your walls.
- Vintage Books & Travel Guides: relics of the golden age of travel, chosen for design, character, and story.
- Curated Objects & Gifts: hotel trinket dishes, airline artifacts, route maps, badges, and small treasures worth keeping.
- Vintage Apparel & Accessories: ties, hats, belts, and pieces selected for craftsmanship, heritage, and quiet style.
- Automotive Culture: the romance of old Land Rovers, Alpine passes, petrol stations, and the open road.

Together, these pieces form a world (a mood) that feels lived-in, nostalgic, adventurous, and effortlessly stylish.

The Curator Behind the Lens

STUDIO PETRINO is created and curated by Jonathan Petrino...a Marine Corps veteran, constant traveler, and long-time tech executive whose work across industries, global cities, and cultures shapes the tone of the studio.

His background in technology, his years on the road, and his love of design and storytelling all inform the way STUDIO PETRINO sees the world.

Jonathan gathers, frames, and shares the moments that make travel feel timeless.
The rest of the story belongs to the viewer, the reader, the collector: to you.

Work featured by ASSOULINE, Sonic Editions, Reader's Digest, Photo Festival St. Barth, YOLO Journal, WM Brown, Oetker Hotels, and more.

The SP Stripe (The Yankee Flag)

There’s an old nautical signal flag: Yankee, the letter “Y” that means “I am dragging my anchor.” Sailors hoisted it when a ship meant to stay still began to drift, pulled quietly by a current it could no longer resist. I’ve always loved that. It sounds less like a warning and more like an honest confession: I wasn’t trying to move…but something out there wanted me to.

STUDIO PETRINO was born from that same feeling. I spent years trying to keep my anchor set with a 'normal' career, a predictable path, the sensible version of a life. But the current kept tugging: first in the wide-open American West, and the mountains and horizons; then in New York City, where heritage, commerce, and style collide in a way that feels both historic and electric; then on the glowing shorelines of St. Barth and the French Riviera; and always in Italy, where beauty is a daily ritual and craftsmanship is a language.

Eventually I realized I wasn’t drifting away from anything. I was drifting toward the places that felt like home...even if they weren’t home quite yet.

The SP Stripe became a quiet symbol of that shift. A reminder that sometimes you don’t choose the movement...the movement chooses you. And if you let it pull you, it might carry you somewhere worth building a life around.
